This Privacy Policy describes how DBD Soft ("we," "us") handles information in connection with ClipBoard Studio (the "App").
The App does not collect or store personal information such as your name, address, Google account, email address, or phone number. The App does not display advertisements. It does use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both described below, which collect anonymized usage and crash information but not your name or contact details. If you purchase ClipBoard Studio Pro, your payment is handled entirely by Google Play, as described in "Subscriptions" below — we never see or receive your payment details.
The App is provided by DBD Soft and does not require an account to use.
All of your content — boards, clips (text, images, links, color swatches), tags, and app settings — is stored locally on your device only, in a private, sandboxed app database and file storage area that other apps cannot access. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the App, this data is deleted along with it (subject to Android's own backup settings — see "Backups" below).
The App uses Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to collect anonymized usage information — things like which screens are opened, how often features are used, coarse device/app information (device model, OS version, app version, approximate country-level location derived from IP), and a Firebase-generated app instance identifier. This is not tied to your name, email, or any account, since the App has none. We use this information only to understand which features are actually used so we know what to improve; we do not sell it or use it for advertising. Firebase Analytics may also collect your device's advertising identifier as part of its standard data collection; you can reset or limit that identifier at any time in your device's privacy settings.

The App uses Firebase Crashlytics (a Google service) to automatically report crashes and app errors. If the App crashes, Crashlytics sends Google a report containing technical information about the crash — device model, OS version, app version, and the stack trace of the code that failed — so we can identify and fix the underlying bug. This report does not include the content of your boards, clips, or Vault. Crash reports are not tied to your name, email, or any account, since the App has none.

ClipBoard Studio Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly), sold and processed entirely through Google Play Billing. When you subscribe, your payment method, billing address, and transaction details are handled directly by Google Play — the App never receives, sees, or stores any payment or card information. The App only learns whether your subscription is currently active, which it uses to unlock Pro features. You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time from Google Play's own Subscriptions page (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions), independent of the App.
The App makes these kinds of outbound network request:
No other feature in the App makes any network request.
ClipBoard Studio includes an optional custom keyboard you can enable in Android's Settings. The keyboard only inserts clips you explicitly select from your own saved boards into whatever text field is focused — it does not read, log, store, or transmit anything else you type in any app, and it does not have network access while active as a keyboard.
The optional floating bubble (draw-over-other-apps permission) only appears when you explicitly enable it in Settings. It lets you pick a saved clip to copy or insert into whatever app you're currently using. It does not read the screen content of other apps and does not transmit anything anywhere.
The App includes an optional Vault for storing especially sensitive text (passwords, API keys, IDs), protected separately from your regular boards. The Vault is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption (SQLCipher/AES), with the encryption key itself protected by your device's hardware-backed Android Keystore and never stored in plain form. Unlocking the Vault requires your device's fingerprint, face, or screen-lock credential; nothing in the Vault is readable without that authentication, including by us — we have no access to your Vault contents under any circumstances, since everything stays on your device.
The Vault's encrypted database and encryption-key material are explicitly excluded from Android's automatic backup and device-transfer features. This is intentional: since the encryption key is tied to your device's hardware Keystore, a restored Vault database would be permanently unreadable on a new device anyway, so excluding it avoids a confusing "restored but locked forever" state. Your regular boards and clips (outside the Vault) may be included in Android's standard app backup if you have that enabled at the OS level, per Android's normal backup behavior for any app.
The App requests no other permissions (no contacts, location, microphone, camera, SMS, or call data).
Your boards, clips, and settings stay on your device under your control until you delete them or uninstall the App — we never receive that content. Analytics data collected via Firebase is retained per Google's Firebase Analytics data-retention settings (by default, up to 14 months from collection), after which it is automatically deleted. Crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics are retained per Google's Crashlytics data-retention settings (by default, 90 days).
ClipBoard Studio is a general-purpose productivity utility not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the applicable age of digital consent in their country (13–16 depending on jurisdiction within the EU/EEA; 13 in most of the rest of the world). If you believe a child has used the App and you have concerns about the anonymized analytics data described above, contact us at dbdsoft@gmail.com.
Firebase Analytics data is pseudonymous and not linked to your identity by us. If you are in the EEA/UK and object to this collection, you can disable Analytics entirely from within the App (Settings), or limit/reset your device's advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings. Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics are technical/diagnostic data (device info and stack traces, not tied to your identity) and do not currently have an in-app toggle; if you object to this collection, contact us at dbdsoft@gmail.com.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example if a future version adds a new feature that changes what's described above. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
For your locally stored boards, clips, and settings, there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or export on your behalf — that content never left your device. For the anonymized Firebase Analytics data described above, you can contact us at dbdsoft@gmail.com to ask about what categories of data are collected (per this policy) or to object to that collection, and you can disable Analytics collection at any time from within the App's Settings.
